Severin ST1 Roasted Maple Electric Guitar
A custom handcrafted tele-style 6-string electric guitar with a book-matched roasted flame maple top and a sipo mahogany back. Top includes roasted maple, wenge, and figured maple wood details. Plus, the solid wood body includes custom carves for fingering access and comfortable playing. We’ve also included custom handcrafted walnut pickup rings and control knobs that match the body details.
The roasted maple neck with walnut and maple details and has a wenge fretboard, med/large stainless steel frets, aluminum inlays, dual action truss rod, and Hipshot grip-lock tuners. We wanted to create a comfortable and playable electric guitar. So, we built the Severin ST1 neck based on the 62 Strat C shape neck profile coupled with a contoured carve around the neck ferrules. To enhance playability and tuning stability we include a Hipshot Fixed Bridge, Hipshot Grip-Lock tuning machines, and Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut and string trees.
As to the electronics, we wanted to create an instrument that would excel in hard rock and metal. That is why we use a Seymour Duncan Mayhem™ Set which pairs two Seymour Duncan High Output Distortion pickups.
Originally known as the SH-7 Seymourizer, the Duncan Distortion neck pickup is specifically designed for use with the matching high-output bridge version. The Duncan Distortion SH-6 bridge is Duncan’s original high-output humbucker. It incorporates a massive ceramic magnet and hot coil windings to deliver well-balanced rock and metal tones that have rich upper midrange harmonic content. Used by many artist’s including Randy Rhoads and Adam Jones.
We’ve matched the pickups with one volume and one tone CTS potentiometers and a 5 position super switch. See the pickup configuration below.
Additionally, we’ve shielded the electronics from interference by coating the control cavities, back plate, and pickup routes with protective shielding material.
To finish things off, we have included Grover Quick Release Strap Locks and a gig bag to protect your new instrument.
