At Severin Guitars, our mission is to push the boundaries of what a hand-carved instrument can be. We don’t just build guitars; we sculpt them. From the foundational lessons of my first 'log' project to the intricate, aggressive scales of the Dragon Wing Rogue, every instrument is a testament to decades of sawdust and sweat. We strive to provide players with a tool that is as much a work of fine art as it is a high-performance machine.

My journey into woodworking didn't start with a high-end guitar—it started with a broken lamp and a direct order from my mom.
I was about 9 or 10 years old when my dad managed to break one of her favorite lamps. Her solution was clear: 'You take your son into the garage and build me a new one.' My dad, sheepishly, just said, 'Yes dear.'
We didn't go to a furniture store; we went to the firewood pile. My dad thought it would be funny to use an actual log, and so the 'Log Lamp' was born. That afternoon, I learned the foundations of everything I do today: how to respect a table saw, the patience required for sanding and finishing, and the technical side of wiring.
Decades later, I’ve traded firewood logs for exotic tonewoods, but that same focus on hand-built quality remains. At Severin Guitars, I combine those lifelong skills with a passion for building instruments that are as 'mean and vicious' as they are beautiful.

Kris Heiberg
Building on the foundations of the legendary "Log Lamp," Kris hand-carves every Severin instrument with a focus on aggressive aesthetics and elite performance.
Kylee Heiberg
The signature Severin silhouette started with Kylee’s eye for design. She is the mind behind our headstock shapes and the artist for the new Dragon Wings Rogue project.
Charles Von Kanel
When he isn’t playing with his bands Sight of Theia and Ballistic Rhino, Charles is our technical guru. He road-tests every build to ensure it meets the highest standards for playability and stage-readiness. An accomplished composer, Charles also wrote and produced the track 'Freezing' specifically for Severin Guitars—providing the perfect soundtrack for our demos and build videos.
